Styles & Song Styles for Korg Pa Series Arranger Keyboards

Korg PA series arrangers (Pa5X, Pa4X, Pa1000, Pa700, and many others) are known for their punchy drums and lively accompaniment.
They’re a favourite among live performers who need styles that groove and react well on stage.

PlanetKeyboard provides a wide range of Korg style and song-style packs covering many genres and decades, from classic ballroom and evergreen pop to EDM, Latin, world music and more.

Korg Pa families and style structure

Pa5X – new generation (KST / STG)

Pa5X introduces a new way of organising styles. Instead of classic .SET files (indeed folders), Pa5X uses .KST sets.
Inside those sets, the STYLE folder contains .STG files, and each .STG represents exactly one style.
This makes styles easier to manage individually while keeping the structure organised.

Pa4X, Pa3X, Pa1000, Pa700 and others – SET & USERxx.STY

On most other Korg Pa instruments, styles are stored in .SET folders.
Inside a SET, you’ll find a STYLE folder containing one or several USERxx.STY file(s):

  • each USERxx.STY file can hold between 16 to 48 user styles (depending to your Korg arranger model),

  • styles are arranged in user banks inside these files.

This is very different from other brands, where one style is usually one file.
Our Korg packs are structured to respect this Korg logic, so you can load user style banks in a way that feels natural on your instrument.

What you get with Korg style packs

Our Korg packs cover:

  • live-friendly dance, pop, rock, Schlager, disco,

  • smooth ballads, jazz standards, Latin, world music,

  • song styles where appropriate for the Pa series.

You will find both smaller curated packs (premium packs) and larger bundles (budget packs) with hundreds or thousands of styles, depending on how “deep” you want your library to be.
Product descriptions clearly indicate supported models and how the styles are organised (SET, banks, etc.).

Delivery & installation (Korg + floppy/emulators)

By default, all Korg style packs are delivered by download.

Optionally, you can choose USB delivery as an extra service, which is useful if you prefer to receive everything pre-transfered on a neutral USB stick.

  • For modern Korg Pa instruments (except EK50 Series or the i3 Year 2020 model or XE20 Series), the usual method is:

    1. Download & unzip the pack on your computer,

    2. Copy the .SET or .KST folder(s) to a USB stick,

    3. Load them via the Pa’s media/utility menus.

  • For older Korg models with a floppy drive or a floppy-drive emulator:

    • If you use a floppy emulator, you will have a to use an additional USB stick formatted on the emulator itself.

    • You must use the emulator’s own software on your computer to transfer our styles from your computer (or from our optional USB) to your USB emulator formatted USB stick.

    • Our optional USB delivery cannot be plugged directly into the emulator as the formats differ between brands and emulator models.
